RAINBOWS groups for children

Description

In the RAINBOWS group, children are supported over a period of four to five months to cope better with the new family situation: They experience that they are not alone, that other children also have separated parents and are in a similar situation. In the RAINBOWS group, the children deal with their situation individually. Age-appropriate creative methods help to deal with feelings related to the separation/loss experience. The aim of the groups is to strengthen the childrens (self-)confidence and personality and to develop future perspectives together with them. Our group educational offer is aimed at children between the ages of 4 and 13 (young people receive support in our RAINBOWS YOUTH groups). The support takes place in small groups (four to six children), the children in the groups are of a similar age. Since they react differently and at different times, participation in a RAINBOWS group is also useful if the separation was a long time ago. In addition to the RAINBOWS group, there are three discussions with the parents. The groups are led by qualified RAINBOWS group leaders who have training in the psychosocial or educational field and special additional training (technical and training course).
