Description

The Equal Treatment Office is an independent federal institution that is mandated by law to advise and support people who feel they have been discriminated against in accordance with the Equal Treatment Act (GlBG). Our area of responsibility is limited to the Equal Treatment Act (GlBG), which prohibits discrimination in the (private) world of work on the basis of gender, care and nursing responsibilities for children and relatives, ethnicity, religion or belief, age or sexual orientation. For areas outside of the world of work, i.e. in access to and use of goods and services including housing, the Equal Treatment Act protects against discrimination on the basis of gender and ethnicity. Disadvantages based on ethnicity are also prohibited in the areas of education, social protection and health services.
