Receiving and handling complaints as well as providing information about the outcome of the investigation, highlighting deficiencies or issues and working towards their resolution, reviewing suggestions and offering recommendations for improving the situation of patients, fulfilling the duties of the compensation officer according to the Tyrolean Patient Compensation Fund Act. Establishing binding patient directives and documenting advance directives regarding death, as well as providing advice on these topics. The patient representation was established to uphold and secure the rights and interests of individuals who seek services in the healthcare sector or require such services due to their health condition – specifically in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and other healthcare institutions under state jurisdiction, as well as in emergency services.
