Dementia counseling for family members of people with young-onset dementia

Description

• free counselling services (individual and family counselling) by phone, online and in person • monthly online peer-group meetings (the peer is a person with relevant training who may also have experience as a relative of a younger-onset person with dementia) After an initial conversation, people can join this group and share their own stories that revolve around worries, fears, grief or coping with those affected. Personal barriers become visible and can be better reflected upon with the help of the group. In this very appreciative and supportive setting, solutions and hope are developed together. The feeling of not being alone becomes an important anchor in daily life. The group meets in person once a year. • Workshops and advanced training, e.g. EduKation demenz® by Prof. Dr. Sabine Engel, for relatives of people with dementia
