Social Accompaniment

Description

Social accompaniment is a service that provides support to people in difficult social situations. It is provided by trained volunteers whose task is to assist with low-threshold tasks (such as accompanying individuals to official appointments or sorting documents) and help people in crises find the right contacts. Social companions also act as bridge builders and networkers, directing individuals to services and experts who can offer professional and potentially long-term support in their time of need. Here’s how it works: If you find yourself in a challenging life situation that pushes you to your limits, feel free to contact your local Red Cross office in Tyrol as a first step. The social accompaniers will then arrange a first meeting with you where you can present your issues and collaboratively define appropriate goals. The initiated support lasts for a maximum of six months and always aims to help you regain and strengthen your self-efficacy.
