Description

In working life, it can be helpful if people with disabilities are considered as favored disabled individuals. Various support options help ensure access to and maintenance of a job. You can get information at www.sozialministeriumservice.at or during a personal consultation. → What requirements do I need to meet? Favored disabled individuals according to this federal law are Austrian citizens (or equivalents) with a disability degree of at least 50%. → Who cannot belong to the group of favored disabled individuals? Students and people receiving a permanent pension according to federal or state laws who are not employed. → What do I need to do? Apply at the Social Ministry Service. The application form is available online. There is no fee for processing the application. → What documents do I need to attach to my application? Current medical documents, such as reports or expert opinions (not older than 2 years), a copy of proof of citizenship or passport, a valid residence permit (for non-EU citizens), and a current care allowance notice (if care allowance is being received). → What benefits come from being part of the group of favored disabled individuals? Entitlement to special support, special protection against dismissal, and – if provided in collective agreements, employment laws, or company agreements – entitlement to additional vacation. Employers can receive support and tax benefits when hiring favored disabled employees; also, they do not have to pay the compensation tax.
