Educational offerings for children with and without disabilities

Description

The slw School Association operates two private schools in Tyrol: the Private School Elisabethinum Axams and the slw Fröhlich School in Fügen. Elisabethinum Axams is a facility for young people with disabilities. In addition to the school, it offers day care, residential services and therapies. Children and adolescents receive individual support and encouragement so they can live as self-determined and independent lives as possible. Since 2013 the school has also been open to children without disabilities. In 12 classes young people with and without disabilities learn together. The slw Fröhlich School is aimed at children and young people who have had few positive experiences in their previous schooling. They are taught according to the timetable of the primary and lower-secondary school; if needed, instruction according to the curriculum of the General Special School is also possible. A special emphasis is placed on vocational orientation to prepare students well for their future paths.
